The Farmhouse

Character accommodation providing you with the opportunity to explore and enjoy the peace and quiet of the French coutryside, and, the activities of  the nearby Lac de Bel Air below.

Pellan Vihan is Breton for "Little Hill". The property, as the name suggests, is on a little hill. It's surrounded by woods and fields and is a few hundred yards from Lac de Bel Air. A quiet walk through the wood to our lake at dusk will give you a good chance of glimpsing wild deer. There are also wild boar in the vicinity, they are rarely seen. Peace and quiet may also be enjoyed on your terrace.

The fields are full of wild flowers, with a variety of butterflies throughout the summer months. Birdlife abounds and is particularly noticeable in April, May and June. Artists will love the dramatic skies. On clear nights the skies are magical with little light pollution.

Activities include swimming in our lake and country walks. At Lac de Bel Air there is a fenced-off swimming area, tennis court and pedalos available for hire.Horse riding is available a couple of miles away. Advice on fishing for Carp and Pike etc,Trout and Salmon in local rivers, and permits are available from bar "Au Pied St Barbe" by the River Elle near La Faouet.

Our lake in our woods with a little boat.

Lac du Bel Air

Priziac (2 miles away) has several restaurants and bars, and a small store selling delicious, fresh, local bread and pastries, amongst it's goods. Le Faouet (4 miles away) has many restaurants, convenience shops and a supermarket. The 15th century covered market is open 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month. Other towns such as Pontivy, Quimperle and Lorient are all worth a visit and are within an hour's drive as are many coastal beaches and fishing ports.
